Learning Objectives:

By the end of this training, learners will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose and function of Simphony APIs and how external systems interact with Simphony through API workstations and employees.
  2. Identify all mandatory components required for successful API operations, including API Workstation, Service Host, Gen1/Gen2 Transaction Services, API Employee, RVC setup, and tender configuration.
  3. Validate and troubleshoot API Workstation configurations to resolve common issues related to menu retrieval, pricing access, and online order injection failures.
  4. Verify Service Host settings and correctly match workstation numbers between EMC and web.config to restore API communication.
  5. Diagnose and correct Autofire and Revenue Center misconfigurations, enabling reliable online order processing for channels such as Uber Eats, Mr D, and Yumbi.
  6. Resolve issues where API orders do not fire to KDS or printers, including checking Order Device output settings.
  7. Apply a structured troubleshooting workflow to quickly isolate API-related issues and improve First Call Resolution (FCR).
  8. Interpret Simphony API Gen2 status codes and errors to identify root causes efficiently.
  9. Enable API logging and archiving settings to collect necessary diagnostic information for deeper troubleshooting.
